Texas Toot Time! The 30th Annual Fall Texas Toot will be held at the Lakeview Conference Center, south of Palestine in northeast Texas, from Friday night, November 18, until the afternoon of Sunday, November 20. We welcome Gwyn Roberts as our featured recorder faculty, as well as Valerie Horst teaching recorders and notation; Frank Shirley returns to round out the instruction on recorders. In addition, we welcome back Douglas Kirk (a Toot Faculty member from the early days!), who will teach reed instruments (shawms, krummhorns) and brass, and, from New York, Rosamund Morley joins us to lead the viols. Regulars Becky Baxter and Bruce Brogdon will offer inspiration and instruction on harp and lute, respectively, and Amy Brumley joins Danny Johnson on the vocal faculty. In addition to classes, there will be English country dancing, a faculty concert, the Boulder Early Music Shop, the famous/infamous Great Texas Krummhorn Konklave, refreshments, and more. Not only will you be able to take part in intensified classes and playing sessions, you'll be entertained and entertaining - so be sure to get your reservations and deposits in as soon as possible. Volunteering to HelpAnother long-standing Toot policy is that of volunteerism. If you can help with the snacks in the break-room (either by helping to set out the food or help with clean-up, etc.) then please let us know in advance; if you are able to provide some snacks (drinks are always welcome too) then please be in touch. After a rousing Krummhorn Konklave, there's nothing that cheers the soul better than a batch of homemade brownies or chocolate-chip cookies! Be creative and generous! General Schedule
